Bonnie White

We are saddened to inform our church family of the passing of Bonnie White, mother of Bill White, on April 16, 2024, into the Church Triumphant.

Bonnie has been a member of our church family since 2012 and since last year she has been residing at Silvercrest Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crestview.

No memorial service is planned here on the Emerald Coast as her wishes were to have a small family memorial in North Carolina.

Cards and expressions of sympathy may be sent to:

Bonnie Ziglar White was born in Forsyth County, N.C. to the late Lula Phillips Ziglar and Rueben E. Ziglar. She is survived by a son, William Rayvon White, Jr. and wife Carolyn, grandson, Jeffrey Nichols White and wife Michelle, great-granddaughter Melissa, great-great-grandson Jaxson, and sister Gaynell Hyatt, as well as nieces and nephews and their families. Preceding her in death were her loving husband, William R. White, her parents, Lula and Rueben Ziglar, sister, Louise Inez Robinson, and brother, Reuben E. Ziglar, Jr.

After finishing high school, she worked for Erlanger Textile Mills in Lexington, N.C., and later finished Blanton’s Business College in Asheville, N.C. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper until she and her husband retired in the beautiful mountains of Maggie Valley, N.C. She was active in the United Methodist Church and the local United Methodist Women’s organization. She and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels to the needy and shut-ins for eighteen years. She served on the board of directors for the Brooks-Howell Home, a retirement home for United Methodist Missionaries in Ashville N.C., for many years.

After her husband passed away, she moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida to be closer to her son and his family. She also volunteered at Sharing and Caring and was a member of the Mary Esther United Methodist Church.
