Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that will help you heal from the pain of your un-managed hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Using the proven steps of traditional 12-step programs and the principles taught by Jesus in the Beatitudes, Celebrate Recovery has a proven track record of success. It is now used in over 19,000 churches worldwide.
The purpose of Mary Esther UMC’s “Celebrate Recovery” is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems. By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program, we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power – Jesus Christ. ~ Pastor Jeff Spicer
Celebrate Recovery will provide you a safe place to find healing and hope. You don’t have to deal with your hurts, your habits, and your hang-ups alone. You have a place to go to finally feel whole.

ONE PERSON’S MINI TESTIMONY
Hi, my name is Joyce and I am a grateful believer in Jesus Christ. I am a codependent who struggles with other hurts, hang-ups, and habits. Prior to starting Celebrate Recovery, I was a Christian and knew my sins were forgiven through Christ’s blood on the cross. When I first heard of Celebrate Recovery, I knew this was something we definitely needed in our community—I have family and friends who needed a program like Celebrate Recovery. As a lay leader in my church, I was 100 percent behind getting this program started.
Then, God said to me, “If you want it for others, then you do it!” “Me, God?” I asked. “Why, I’m 68 years old, I am ready to relax and enjoy life.” It was then that God reminded me about Abraham and Sarah, and His call to them. “Okay, okay, I hear you God.” The next thing you know, I am in this 12-step program that everyone else needs, and guess what—I needed it! It has been quite a journey going back over my life and facing my own brokenness! Through this process, God is freeing me from my past hurts, habits, and hang-ups. It is God who is healing me—something He alone can do—not me.
The Bible tells us in Joel 2:25, that God will redeem the years the locusts have eaten. I am living life now with wonder and great expectations for what God has in store for me as he remakes me into his image—the person he created me to be.
