We are saddened to inform our church family of the passing of Lois Peterson into the Church Triumphant on November 10, 2024.

Please keep the Peterson family in your prayers.

Lois was born on August 24, 1932, to Louis and Anna Pavlik in Chicago, Illinois. After high school, Lois worked for United Airlines—a time in her life she had fond memories of due to all the traveling it allowed her to do.

While traveling with United, she met her husband, Hal, an airman. They had 58 years together and five children: Chip/Hal Lawrence, Paula Jane, Harry Louis, Laura Ann, who is with her in heaven, and Howard Lidge.

As her five children grew older, Lois supplemented her family’s income, first at Jacobs Jewelers and then later at Jeanie Wallace CPA Office, where she spent many years.

Lois enjoyed spending her time sewing, cross-stitching, and crocheting. She had a love for collecting teddy bears—a love sure to have been inspired by her even greater love for the Chicago Bears and the Cubs!

Lois was a long-time, dedicated member of the Mary Esther United Methodist Church, where she was trained in the Stephen Ministries. She loved the one-on-one relationships it provided, as she had a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during their time of need.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Hal and her older sister Arlene, who she loved very much, along with their wonderful family.

Lois is survived by her children (and their spouses): Chip/Hal (Debbie), Paula (Jay), Harry (Lisa), and Howard (Sharon).

She is also survived by her grandchildren (and their spouses) and her great-grandchildren: Allison (Joel) and her daughter Laura; Zachary; Chelsea (Dana) and her children Decker, Mila, and Orion; Jared (Rachel) and his son Jace; Grant; and Alexandra.

The family is planning an intimate service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her beloved Stephen Ministries.

McLaughlin Mortuary is entrusted with the arrangements. Expressions of love, sympathy, and support may be placed and viewed at www.mclaughlinmortuary.com.

Let light perpetual shine upon her!
